“I am writing to voice my outrage that a national newspaper of such stature would run such a blatanly racist cartoon as you chose to print. This cartoon exposes the racism at the heart of why an afrocentric curriculum is direly needed in Toronto schools. As an aboriginal woman who has dedicated her life to combating racist attitudes and seeks an equitable society, this kind of humour is appalling. Please print an apology.”
